Cold Storage Temperature Monitoring System
Get an SMS and a call the moment a cold room, pharma refrigerator or vaccine store goes out of range. Nex-G Automation's GSM temperature and humidity logger alerts up to six people and can sound a hooter on site, even in unattended warehouses.
Why Temperature Excursions Go Unnoticed
A cold room compressor can fail at night. A pharma refrigerator door can be left ajar over a weekend. A warehouse can heat up when the power is cut. If nobody is on site, the first sign is often spoiled stock or a damaged batch.
A remote temperature monitoring system closes that gap. A sensor watches the storage space continuously and a GSM unit alerts people by SMS and call as soon as a reading crosses a set limit, so someone can act before the loss grows.
Nex-G Automation's THDL-GSM-WiFi uses a digital SHT40 temperature and humidity sensor probe, a 0.9-inch OLED display, 2G/3G GSM alerts to up to six mobile numbers and a relay output for a hooter or siren. It also sends an alert if the sensor is open or fails, so a dead probe is not mistaken for normal readings.
It suits cold storage temperature monitoring, pharma and vaccine storage, food processing, clean rooms, greenhouses and remote warehouse temperature monitoring.
What Is a GSM Temperature Alert System?
It is a temperature and humidity monitoring device with a GSM module. When a reading goes above or below the limits you set, it sends SMS messages and places calls to configured phone numbers, without relying on a WiFi or internet connection at the site.
How Remote Temperature Monitoring with SMS Alerts Works
Four steps from sensor to action.
Sensor Measures
The SHT40 probe measures temperature and humidity inside the storage space.
Limits Are Checked
The logger compares readings with the high and low thresholds you configured.
Alerts Go Out
SMS and call alerts reach up to six numbers, and the relay can trigger a hooter.
Team Responds
Staff check the equipment, door or power and restore safe conditions.
Where Temperature and Humidity Monitoring Is Used
Any space where a few degrees or a rise in humidity can cause loss.
Cold Room Monitoring
Watch cold rooms and chillers and get a mobile alert when temperature drifts.
Pharmaceutical Refrigerators
Monitor pharma fridges and storage areas with high-low alarms and phone alerts.
Vaccine Storage
Keep an eye on vaccine storage conditions, with alerts that reach several people.
Food Processing and Storage
Track temperature and humidity in processing and storage areas.
Unattended Warehouses
Remote warehouse temperature monitoring over GSM for sites with no staff at night.
Labs, Clean Rooms and Greenhouses
Humidity and temperature alerts for controlled environments and crop areas.
Why Use a GSM Temperature and Humidity Logger?
Alerts Reach People Anywhere
SMS and call alerts go to mobile phones over the GSM network.
Multiple User Alerts
Up to six numbers, so an alert is not missed if one person is unavailable.
On-Site Alarm
Relay output (1x NO/NC, max 2A) triggers an external hooter or siren.
Sensor Failure Detection
An alert is sent if the probe is open or fails.
Tamper-Resistant Setup
No keypad. Thresholds, numbers and calibration are set through WiFi configuration.
Wide Sensing Range
−40°C to +125°C and 0–100% RH, with ±0.2°C and ±2% RH accuracy.
Manual Checks vs GSM Temperature Alerts
| Factor | Manual Checks | GSM Temperature Logger |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | Only when someone visits | Monitors the space and alerts on a breach |
| Night and Weekends | No visibility | SMS and call alerts to mobile phones |
| Who Is Told | Whoever happens to check | Up to six configured numbers |
| Local Warning | None | Relay output for hooter or siren |
| Probe Failure | May go unnoticed | Sensor failure alert |
Setting Up Temperature Monitoring Correctly
Placement and Settings
Place the probe where it represents the stored goods, away from direct cooling vents, doors and heat sources. Set high and low limits that match your storage requirement and use the calibration setting to match a reference instrument.
Make sure the site has GSM network coverage and that a working SIM card is installed. Supply the unit with 9V to 24V DC.
Compliance Note
Pharma and vaccine storage may be subject to regulatory or cold chain guidelines, including calibration and record-keeping requirements. Check these against your own rules and confirm with Nex-G Automation that the device meets your needs before relying on it for compliance.
